Gallery: Connecting at the Climate Action Mixer

Months of unseasonably dry weather, followed by recent pounding rains and severe storm warnings, reminded attendees at this year’s Climate Action Mixer of the significance of protecting what’s important to us.

Despite the volatility of the weather, the spirit of the party couldn’t be dampened at a full house at The Caboose in Hudson. Packed with climate activists, environmentalists, neighbors, and friends, the crowd gathered during Climate Solutions Week to bond over a shared sense of purpose.

Booths from PCA’s PollinateHV and The Wild Trust, The Hudson Valley Seed Company, Mid-Hudson Energy Transition, and Hawthorne Valley’s Farm Ecology Program sat prominently along the walls of the venue, inviting guests to learn more about how they might directly impact our shared land and society.

Following an inspiring speech from PCA’s Matt Stinchcomb, guests spent time meeting the rest of the organization’s staff and learning more about programs like Funding Futures. A few ventured out into the native garden during a brief break in the rain.

The reprieve didn’t last long: a downpour blew open the front door of The Caboose as guests began to depart; those who ventured outside were quickly drenched.

As the mixer died down, it was clear a sentiment had emerged: everyone was reminded of the importance of connection, especially during uncertain, fractured times, and the warmth emanating from the briefly shared space proved to be fortifying and refreshing.

Special thanks to our co-sponsor, Sustainable Hudson Valley. This year’s Climate Action Mixer was an official event of Climate Solutions Week.
