Get Outside! Meadow Walk: Exploring Biodiversity (Sold out!)

Sold Out!

The Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program will lead an exploration of plants and insects in the meadows of a former working orchard. This site includes approximately 80 acres of open fields now managed to support native biodiversity.

During the walk we'll become familiar with meadow plants and look for pollinators and other insects. We will also discuss the impacts of historic land use and our changing climate on Hudson Valley biodiversity.

This event will be held on private property — which also includes a three-acre field that forms part of Partners for Climate Action's at-risk pollinator habitat restoration program, Pollinate Now! Please note that the walk will take us through un-mowed fields and uneven terrain. Consider wearing long sleeves to protect yourself from ticks.

Hosted by PCA, this program is part of our Get Outside series to connect with the outdoors while connecting with each other.

Registration will be capped at 25, so sign up today!
